Mary Lou crosses finish line
Mary Lou is the first at MPK to finish the 23 Things for Learning 2.0! Congratulations, Marlo, and thank you for all the help you have given the rest of the staff. We literally could not have done it without you!
Wire world
Is this progress? The wire tech finishes installing the rack for our new equipment. Now we wait for IT. Good thing we don't use that cupboard too often!

Look out below!
Plaster has been falling off the ceiling and wall of our book return area, especially during heavy rain.
Reach for TP!
Our little breakroom is also used as the janitor's storage closet! Here Mary Lou is demonstrating her unique technique for reaching the toilet paper. She uses a yardstick to reach what she needs.

Good Job!
On Thursday, August 24, intrepid MPK staff members Gina DeLisle and Zach Kirchberg chased and captured a baby chipmunk who had run into the building. Using rubber gloves and a waste basket, they caught the little fellow and set him free outside. For their fine work, they have recevied the coveted Teddy Bear Good Job Trophy. Way to go, guys!
Monday Bookdrop
Here's what we see every Monday morning and after a holiday. The book drop bin is so small, we have to pull it out and let everything fall on the floor!
Welcome to MPK
Welcome! We are the 8 staff members of the Myers Park Branch of the Public Library and Mecklenburg County (PLCMC). Myers Park was built in 1956, the first of PLCMC's 24 branches. It will be 50 years old in October! As a birthday present, the building is scheduled for renovation in 2007. In the meantime, we 8 work in very tight quarters!
